Haiku Friday: widgety woes

Posted on: November 2, 2007

Blogger was a bitch
gave me the ice cold shoulder
my thoughts were not safe

my posts disappeared
my changes not always saved
Blogger done me wrong

my move was not easy
sad to leave my first blog-home
it had to be done

i do love WordPress
feeling oh so at home here
where i write my thoughts

but for one small thing
fun widgets not supported
my place looks so drab

once i find a host
that allows my potty mouth

fun widgets galore!

i’m still looking for a web host…still open to recommendations. i’m hoping to be hosted by sometime next week. free to use all types of java-scripty widgety goodness. one day it will be mine…oh yes!

We use dreamhost. We’ve had a few minor problems with them (way less problems than with our last host), they don’t seem to mind profanity, actually I think you can even host porn if you want.

WordPress installs as a one click so all you need to do is fill in a few details and their software does the rest.

If you like them let me know and I’ll send you a code that’ll give you $50 set up.

Those were so cute!

I’m still a Blogger girl – I’m scared of change! Such a sissy.

Great haiku! I am a blogger girl who’s afraid of change too, so I have no advice I’m afraid 😦

Let me just say that I LOVE WORDPRESS!! It’s awesome, and you will LOVE it, too!!!

❤

You know I have thought about moving from blogger but I haven’t had the nerve. Hopefully you will find one that you love soon.

I’m with HG & AndreAnna. Terrified to make any move. Annoyed some days, but not enough to let go of the security net!

I’ve kinda fallen back in love with Blogger and too chicken to make the change.

Good luck on your quest to find a host!

i’m just a blogger neophyte (today’s big word.. heh). all those scary html things and widgets scaaaaaaare me! great haiku!

Hmm… I must be too new to know why I would want to switch?

Good luck to you though on finding a good home for your blog!

PS- I don’t think it’s drab. I think it’s very serene.

Blogger has worked okay for me so far. But I am a big noob, so I wouldn’t know if it sucked. great haiku.

Like I said before I haven’t had any problems with blogger. And damn, there are way too many widgets to choose from!

Maybe give it a try one more time? It’s not like it will cost you anything and then if it doesn’t work out you can move on to another host…..

I guess I’m one of the few satisfied with Blogger. Of course, I’m pretty bland, so that’s probably why. Good luck on the host search.

Hee hee…

Have you tried just surfing around people’s blog rolls, looking for people that are hosted elsewhere and contacting them for their insight into it all?

“Blogger was a bitch”

Oh NO! Say it ain’t so. I haven’t had any problems with blogger. Now that I said that, the blogger folks will go trash my blog (which incidentally, may NOT be a bad thing). 🙂

Great kus Cate.

I too love WordPress, but hate that they don’t support the Javascript widgets. Like the Google Shared Items or the Shelfari book shelf. Oh, well. I guess I’ll have to go self-hosted too (in awhile after you’ve done all my homework for me…).

Im SO new to this, Im a blogger girl and know nothing of hosting. Great Ku though 🙂

What did I tell ya about Dreamhost??? Great ku’s girl!

You’ll get there!

Coming from Blue Momma cause she told me to. And it was worth it. I’ve a wordpress blog but I have to say I think blogger is way easier. WordPress is the smart gal’s way to go I think. And me? Not so much.

Hope you find someplace soon!

Your potty mouth cracks me up so I hope you find a place soon! Great haiku!

Love them, im thinking of switching soon to if i can be bothered designing my wordpress page
